Working from our studio in Emerald, south east of melbourne, we specialise in handcrafting boutique chocolates perfect for gifts and sharing, but also very appealing to the solitary pleasure seeker. We love sourcing our fresh produce from local businesses and creating chocolates with pure plant-based ingredients. All our ganache filled chocolates are vegan, gluten-free, refined sugar free and are exceptionally flavoured. We hope you enjoy indulging with Medita!
Catherine Hill is the founder of Medita Chocolates. She grew up in Emerald near the Yarra Valley, and her love of cooking and fresh produce began there, baking cakes for her family after spending afternoons gardening. After completing her Bac. of Science, majoring in Botany, Catherine commenced her chef apprenticeship at Rockpool and The Atlantic in Melbourne. Following her time in Melbourne, opportunity arose to further her career in London at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay as a pastry chef. Over the next two years, Catherine honed her craft and love of desserts under the tutelage of Chef Patron Clare Smyth MBE in a high-pressure, three Michelin Star environment. Following her time at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, Catherine continued her development, interning at Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons, Mast Brothers and Pavillon Ledoyen, Alléno Paris. Equipped with a passion for high-end pastry and plant-based cuisine, Catherine has moved back to Melbourne with a vision to produce elegant boutique chocolates with a quality to match the high-end kitchens where she has developed her skills.
